Outpost Neighborhood Kitchen

2 Rating

We live just a few minutes away and have had two prior negative experiences at Outpost Neighborhood Kitchen -- never posted a bad review before now but... it really was that bad. The quick and dirty? Good but overpriced food tainted by broken air conditioning, terrible service, inexplicably rude management. They stay popular because they have a trendy design, hipster cocktails, and no direct competition within a mile. First off... the heat. This is Florida. They had temporary air conditioning installed, which indicated the busted HVAC situation was far from temporary. Riley and Megan, our waitresses were lovely and opened the door because we were sweating like mad. Kevin, the owner, came over and closed the door. We asked if he could open it again. He said it was "letting out the cold air" and walked away. We're sweating again and fanning ourselves. So are several other patrons. It was 74 degrees outside and considerably warmer inside but the temporary A/C was pointed to where he was conveniently standing so... there's that. Food finally showed up. Hipster design exploitation. Six potato wedges for $3. Insufficient quantity of "pretzel" bread that was not actually pretzel bread

Pros: Good food. Cute décor.

Cons: Overpriced. Horribly slow service. Rude management. Broken AC. Uncomfortable seating. Passive aggressive service recovery that blames the patrons for their own shortcomings.
