Voted best neighborhood restaurant from 2012 through 2018 Maxine's on Shine is a local favorite for a multitude of reasons.  Whether you are a vegetarian or full-on carnivore, like simplicity or taste provoking combinations the quaint and kitschy restaurant in Thornton Park is a little taste of home. Walls off local art and music set the stage for the inspired dishes gracing their menu beginning with tempting starters such as the Drunken Mussels made with a white wine garlic butter sauce.  The key west crab cakes with a kick are paired with a firecracker dipping sauce are fire.

For the wine lovers, they present a breathtaking charcuterie board filled with distinctive cheese wedge selections, fruit, and nuts.

Locally Loved Restaurant In Orlando Feels Like Home

Maxine's on Shine has a burger on the menu that comes with its own side of gumption. The Brisket Burger is topped with a fried egg, cheddar cheese, bacon jam, and a brioche bun. Also on the mainstage menu, you'll find my favorite, the lobster ravioli. Any chance I get to enjoy delicious seafood in Orlando, I'm happy. Speaking of, the Marquee menu includes chef selected fresh fish and perfectly aged black Angus steak.  If after all that you're still interested in an Encore, Maxine's has a tempting list of in-house and locally baked desserts.

TBH, I may be salivating as I tell you that their Rejuicination Brunch on Saturday (10am-3pm) and Sunday (10am-4pm) is a local secret I don't mind sharing. Shrimp Polenta, Eggs Benedict with Crabcakes, and what I like to call a Southern heart attack on a plate, the Chicken a Waffles topped with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs are just a few of my favorite things worth the extra cardio.
