Orange County Brewers will officially join the exploding Central Florida craft beer scene with their grand opening this Thursday, August 24th, 2017. The bright, open brewpub sports 30 taps (with 15 house brewed creations) and a full-service pizza kitchen. Located on the corner of Orange Ave and Jefferson, OCB is centrally located but just outside of the busy bustle of Downtown Orlando.
“The vibe of the Orlando bar and brewery is low-key,” says managing partner Pete Zachman over an Allman Brothers Band song. Bright murals cover the walls and pay tribute to Central Florida culture and the beer brewing process. The space has free parking available along Jefferson and a dog-friendly patio. When the bay doors are open, patrons can sit on the patio’s picnic tables with a direct view into the brewery.
New Local Brewery Opens In Downtown Orlando This Week
The company operates on a 7 barrel brew house (which translates to 217 gallons per batch) but also has 14 barrel fermentation tanks and a small pilot system to test experimental creations. Amanda Roberts is OCB’s Head Brewer and is a beer enthusiast. She completed an apprenticeship in Clearwater at Sea Dog Brewing and has been a member of Girls Pint Out, the Pink Boots Society, and the Central Florida Brewers Association.
Roberts loves to teach people about craft beer and plans to offer tours and organize educational events. Roberts also encourages people to learn experientially. “You can learn a lot about beer,” she says as she sips from a pint glass, “just by drinking it.”
And drink it we shall. With a variety of styles on tap – from big hoppy IPAs to coconut porters and fruity blonde ales – the Orlando Brewery's friendly bartenders should find a beer for any palate. Beer lovers will also have access to Orange County Brewers beer around Central Florida, as the company is also brewing for distribution. Businesses can order OCB draft through City Beverages.
“We are extremely happy to finally open the doors to our awesome new concept,” says Owner Jeremy Roberts. The grand opening party will run from 4PM-1AM this Thursday, 8/24/17.
