We will be drawing the lucky ticket for a bottle from Buffalo Trace Distillery's 6 Millionth Barrel of Kentucky Bourbon. Buffalo Trace distributed just 400 of these collector's edition bottles to charities around the nation to use for fundraisers.
Event Details
Raffle tickets are available online at HopperAcademy.org/BourbonRaffle for a $25 donation and if available (only 200 will be sold) at the drawing. Come early and enjoy The Imperial's fine cocktails. The drawing will take place at 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit Historic Hopper Academy.
About Hopper Academy: Built in 1910, this school served African-American students in Sanford and Seminole County until the 1960's. Saved from demolition in the 1990's, the school is now being used as a community center in the Georgetown neighborhood, east of Sanford Avenue. Funds will help complete the current restoration project, and open the second floor for community events.
About the bourbon: In 2008, Buffalo Trace Distillery rolled its six millionth barrel produced since Prohibition into Warehouse V, the world’s only bonded single barrel aging warehouse. In April 2018 the seven millionth barrel took its place and the sixth was moved into another warehouse to mature for another year - a full 10 years 11 months. The six millionth barrel of Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been filled into 375 ml bottles and is being made available exclusively to non-profit organizations for fund raising opportunities.
Each bottle from the Sixth Millionth Barrel has a beautifully handwritten description on the glass and the bottles have been packaged in a numbered hardwood showcase box that includes a piece of the charred oak stave from the historic barrel and small brochure explaining the significance of this collector’s edition. We are raffling bottle number 384.
