On June 3rd downtown Orlando's Broken Cauldron Taproom & Brewery will celebrate their 2nd year of operation with a day of festivities. The taproom is located at 1012 West Church Street, just a couple of blocks away from Orlando City Soccer Stadium. The best part of this Central Florida microbrewery? It's a two-fer! Both Black Cauldron Brewing and Broken Strings Brewery operate on the same three-barrel system and share a taproom.

Orlando Brewery Taps Off Another Year: Broken Strings 2 Year Anniversary

Broken Strings is owned by Charles Frizzell and Adam Peyrouse. It trends toward more hoppy brews, while Jeanna and Ken Malines' company Black Cauldron focuses on more malt-forward varieties. Together with their business partners Jeff and Julie Thompson, they have created a go-to spot for craft beer in downtown Orlando, especially on game days.

Broken Strings' birthday brunch celebrations start at 11AM and will run till 3PM when Black Cauldron's Tacoversary party takes over. At 11AM a double beer release is going down. Both are a special collaboration between Brunch Bros and Broken Strings. Dropping in bottles and on draft is Mr. Brunchside a 9% imperial maple porter aged in Heaven Hills Bourbon barrels. The barrels were then used to age Bliss Gourmet Foods maple syrup. Staying true to Broken String's habit of paying homage to musical legends, the beer was inspired by The Killers. The second brew is a perfect brunch beverage -- a watermelon beermosa saison called Rind Melon, in honor of the band Blind Melon. Treehouse Truck will be in the house serving up special breakfast items. You can buy beers and brunch a la carte or for $30 pick up tickets that include a brunch plate from Treehouse Truck, a 12oz pour of Mr. Brunchside, and all you can drink beermosas

From 3PM-6PM celebrate Church Street craft with Black Cauldron's Tacoversary. The microbrewery will tap Pina Coladale, a beer aged in St. Augustine Distillery Rum Barrels. Pina Coladale is a 6% light wheat ale infused with pineapple and coconut. Pepe's Cantina will be in the casa serving up tacos while Leo Aether performs live music. Alongside the new brews, the taproom will pour 10 other house-brewed beers. Current favorites include Liquid Vinyl Black IPA, Peach Milkshake NE IPA, Ruckus Red Ale and Bleed Purple Blackberry Saison.

The nature of Charles Frizzell and Jeanna Malines' cooperative brewing arrangement is an example of the collaborative spirit of the American craft beer industry and we can't wait to raise a glass to them for another great year of brewing awesome local beer.
