Broken Strings Brewery in downtown Orlando will release an 11% vanilla hazelnut bourbon-cognac barrel-aged imperial stout named Mr. Wendal this Saturday! $2 of every bottle of the beer will be donated to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

Mr. Wendal was brewed as a collaboration with the famous hip hop collective Arrested Development. Arrested Development was popularized in the early 90's and contributed positive alternative rap to the current music scene. Their song Mr. Wendal begins with "Here, have a dollar. In fact, no brotherman here, have two." The song's message regarding helping the homeless inspired the $2 donation per bottle sold.

The Coalition for the Homeless is just a half mile from the Orlando Brewery. The Coalition for the Homeless is a community shelter that serves more than 600 homeless men, women, and children each day with residential programs and community initiatives.

Broken Strings Brewery is located at 1012 W. Church Street just 900 feet from the Orlando City Stadium. In June will celebrate 3 years of brewing local beers. The young company's black IPA Liquid Vinyl also recently won a gold medal at the Best Florida Beer 2019 competition.

Broken Strings Brewery is one of more than 30 great local microbreweries in Central Florida. There's always something fun happening in the local beer scene and often local brewery events work to positively impact their community. Check out Deviant Wolfe Brewing's upcoming Brews for Brains charity street party or other local beer events happening in Spring.
