Only in the city beautiful can you celebrate Halloween in Orlando at a resort inviting you to pack both your costume and your bathing suit. Starting September 13, Gaylord Palms will be offering a ghoulish good time both inside the resort's atrium and outside at the Cypress Springs Water Park. It's their Goblins And Giggles Getaway Weekend, and for those of us living in Orlando, we're lucky it's not too far to get away to.

This year, Gaylord Palms is introducing Spookley the Square Pumpkin who is a little gourd with a big message about anti-bullying. This Halloween in Orlando you'll meet him when you purchase your Halloween Hide & Seek Scavenger Hunt activity book. He's the star of the hunt and he'll be what you're hunting as you solve the puzzles and solve the clues to win a prize at the end.

Morgana the treat-making witch from Spooksville shares the story of Spookley from the best-selling children's book during Storytime with Morgana. And you can see the animated film Spookley the Square Pumpkin poolside on select nights. Both tell the story of Spookley who was born with edges when all the other pumpkins were born with curves. At first, he suffers the teasing from his fellows for being different, until something happens on the farm one night and his square shape comes to the rescue. The message is one of kindness and tolerance which is great for kids any time of the year.

Gaylord Palms Resort In Orlando Offers Family Friendly Halloween Events And Fun For Everyone

For the bravest visitors, the Swamp Witch Escape Ghost Tour leads you through the swamps inside the bewitching atrium where you'll learn the story of Bessie Budd-Graham. She was the swamp witch of Tallahassee, and at the end of the tour, you'll face the specter of Bessie herself and help her escape her curse.

If you're happiest at Halloween with tales of hauntings and ghosts, you'll want to embark on the evening Florida's Haunted History Ghost Tour. This tour shares real stories about some of the darkest, most haunted places in the Sunshine State.

Get your Boo-gie on with the Monster Mash Bash, a party for all ages. Vladimir the vampire and Morgana team up to teach you the dance moves and lead a sing-a-long before hosting the costume contest with terror-ific prizes. Or bust out the bathing suit and hit up the Wicked Awesome Pool Party where Vladimir the vampire (thanks to sunscreen) will entertain you with games and other interactive fun. The Orlando resort’s FlowRider – The Wake Zone – is also featured with the Wicked Waves Surf Show, a frightfully-fun showcase of Gaylord Palms’ highly-decorated flow boarders’ best tricks and treats on the wave.

And what would a Halloween event in Orlando be without trick-or-treating? At Goblins & Giggles, you and the little ones trick-or-treat through 4.5 acres of enclosed atrium to find sweets and the Halloween Haunted House Decorating where all ages are invited to decorate a cookie-based haunted house you get to take with you. If you get hungry for something a bit more substantial, there will be seasonally-themed food and drinks throughout all the resort's dining options including, MOOR, Wreckers Sports Bar, and Villa de Flora.

When it's time to relax, visit the Relâche Spa to Create-Your-Own Treat-ments. The spa team provides all the ingredients to create balms, scrubs, masks, and bath fizzes. With seasonally-themed names like “Bone Chilling Balm” or “Supernatural Scrub,” you can choose one or make all four customized spa products to bring home.
