Description

Join us for a special morning of St. Patrick’s Day crafts, clovers and tea. We will complete two unique projects that are sure to brighten your home and garden with a little Irish luck.

Event Details

First, we will plant four leaf clovers (also called White Clover (Trifolium repens)) in a handmade pot of gold. Once sprouted, white clover can be used for food and medicine in your kitchen and herbal apothecary. All of the aerial parts of the clover plant are edible: leaves, stems, flowers, and seed pods. The dried leaves and flowers are slightly sweet and can leave behind a faint vanilla-like flavor. White clover was traditionally used to purify and cleanse the blood. A tea made from the blossoms can be used as an eye wash. Tincture the leaves to use as an ointment for gout. Make a tea infusion to fight fevers and colds. This adorable planter will dress up any holiday table or bring some festive decor to your garden.

Next, we will be painting a gorgeous glass mug and brewing red clover tea to ring in St. Patrick’s Day the healthy way. Red clover is high in calcium, magnesium, iron, and vitamin C making it good as a bone building tea. The iced tea is often used to soothe menopausal hot flashes. Because it is safe for children, it is also often used to help soothe children's coughs.

So, come join us in making this fun holiday one to remember! We promise you’ll walk out with two keepsakes you’ll treasure for years to come and you’ll learn something new about what we once thought to just be a lucky weed.
