To celebrate the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria in 1810, festivities were held for five days in the fields in front of Munich's city gates. 207 years later, Oktoberfest has evolved into one of the biggest parties in the world. Over sixteen days, more than six million people break out dirndls and lederhosen to hoist their steins in Munich.

Munich's Oktoberfest is a bucket list event, but you don't need a flight to Germany to take part in the party. On October 7th, 2017 Oktoberfest Downtown Orlando 2017 will take over the city. With over fifteen venues hosting Oktoberfest events in Orlando, the night is guaranteed to be bigger than Hasselhoff's German fan base. The festivities will kick off at 6 PM and run until 2 AM. Guests can expect an abundance of German food, music, and beer. A perfect place to start the night is at Wall Street for their 7 PM free stein giveaway. The Annual Blocktoberfest - Oktoberfest on Wall St! party also promises Oompa music, brats, pretzels, competitive stein hoisting, and Oktoberfest drink specials in Orlando.

German Food, Music and Drink Specials: Downtown Orlando Oktoberfest

Speaking of specials -- every single participating venue will offer $3 Sam Adams Oktoberfest beers all night long. Brewed by Samual Adams, this Marzen-style lager is copper in color with a deep, smooth flavor and caramel notes. The other participating venues include Chillers | Cahoots | Latitudes, ACE Cafe OrlandoStagger Inn | Downtown, Saddle Up All American Bar, Casey's On Central, Dapper Duck, Underground Public House, Crow & Company, Harry Buffalo | Downtown Orlando, Swiggs, The Other Bar, SideBar Orlando, The Lodge and Downtown PourHouse

With so many spots collaborating in celebration there will be plenty of Oktoberfest events in Orlando to eat, see, drink, and do. This is only the first Downtown Orlando Oktoberfest, but the community plans to work to make this annual event as big of a block party as St. Patrick's Day in Downtown Orlando. This means that if you don't have a lederhosen or dirndl yet, it would be a good year to make the investment.
