The Story Behind the Pictures: Friday, May 17, 7pm, FREE
Event Details
A presentation of the stories by a Hannibal Square Heritage Center historian, and an informative review by Peter Schreyer about how each of the Sage photographs was made and what technical and environmental challenges were addressed. The images were created with conventional black-and-white film, using vintage cameras from 1988 and 1956. The environmental portraits were captured mostly with natural light, using a tripod and often very slow exposures. The handmade archival prints were the result of over 100 hours of processing and finishing in the Crealdé darkroom.
