Description

On August 21, the continental United States will see its first total solar eclipse in 99 years! Florida residents will be able to view the solar eclipse at 85 percent totality, which means the moon will almost completely cover the sun.

Event Details

Visit Orlando Science Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a fun and safe celebration of the eclipse! The peak viewing time is approximately 2:45 p.m.

FREE POP-UP VIEWING LOCATIONS

Orlando Science Center will also be hosting FREE pop-up viewing locations around town. These locations are made possible with support from Florida Hospital For Children, Full Sail Labs, & Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.

These locations will offer solar demos, models and activities for you to try!

Free safe viewing glasses will be distributed at each pop-up location while supplies last:

EXPERIENCES

With general admission, in addition to exploring all of Orlando Science Center's exhibits and viewing our films, visitors will be able to:

• View the solar eclipse safely with special glasses and/or using our solar telescope filters
• Make phone filters to capture great photos of the eclipse
• Get creative with solar-themed crafts and art activities
• Calculating eclipse distances and temperatures
• Solar eclipse demos and presentations

COST

Viewing at pop-up locations is free.

Solar eclipse activities at Orlando Science Center are included with general admission which is $20.95 for adults, $18.95 for seniors and students, $14.95 for children ages 3–11. The event is free to Science Center members and Member Guest Passes are accepted.
