Free Fridays Concert Series: The Progressive Rock Experience

Interested in hearing local artists and attending one of the region's largest and longest-running outdoor concerts? Every Friday night, experience Gainesville’s talented musicians from all genres perform at Bo Diddley Plaza between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. The best part is that it's completely free! Bring a picnic blanket and prepare to be serenaded under the stars. There are a lot of great restaurants and bars in Downtown Gainesville, so take a stroll after the concert and find more fun to get into!

Florida Gators v. Charleston Southern Buccaneers Football

Labor Day signifies that summer is coming to an end and, for many of us, fall means one thing: football season is starting! The Florida Gators are playing the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Saturday, September 1 at the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Kick-off will begin at 7:30 p.m. This is the first football game of the season, so it's sure to be a fan-packed event. Tickets are still available for $27+ online and, remember that only clear bags and small wristlets are allowed into the stadium.

Florida Gators v. UCF Knights Volleyball

After a Saturday filled with football, why not spend Sunday taking in a volleyball game? The Florida Gators play the University of Central Florida Knights on Sunday, September 2 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are still available online for as low as $4 to $6 each! Florida is also currently ranked 7th in the nation while UCF is currently not ranked, so you're definitely in for a great match.

Yoga Mondays

Yoga is a great way to wind down from a long, jam-packed weekend full of activities before the workweek starts again. Yoga Mondays are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bo Diddley Plaza. All levels of yoga ability are welcome as well as all ages and, it's free to the public. However, donations are always appreciated. Be sure to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water! Depending on the week, instructors for Yoga Mondays switch off, and class on September 3 class will be taught by Kate Motto.

Whether you want to go to a concert, watch a game, or get a light workout in, there's definitely something you'll enjoy doing on Labor Day weekend in Gainesville.
