After a wait that surely felt like an eternity to some, Magic Kingdom's new Fantasyland expansion premiered with a soft opening today allowing park guests to explore a variety of new rides, shops, restaurants, and more at the park.
The official grand opening of Fantasyland isn't until December 6, but guests at the Magic Kingdom can still get a glimpse of all Fantasyland has to offer, just with limited open hours until the grand opening.
Once inside, you can explore a handful of new attractions at Fantasyland including the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, the new Be Our Guest restaurant, Gaston's Tavern and gift shop, Ariel's Grotto, and Enchanted Tales with Belle.
As Fantasyland opens, new details are emerging regarding all the new attractions the expansion has to offer. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the new Be Our Guest restaurant boasts touch-screen, GPS menus that allow guests to order, take a seat wherever they please, then be served based on this location technology. In addition, it's the first dining establishment inside the park to serve alcoholic beverages.
In addition to other traditional rides, Fantasyland will play home to Enchanted Tales with Belle, a brand-new style of attraction at Magic Kingdom where guests are led on a tour through the village and regaled with stories from Belle in this Beauty and the Beast inspired experience.
