Baltimore, MD -

There's a huge crime being perpetrated inside the NFL right now...

And it's the terrible, no good, historically bad backup quarterbacks who are raking in tens of millions of dollars.

Welcome to the Miami Sports Weekly Rundown, I'm David Baumann.

As I watched the Dolphins-Ravens horror show LIVE and in-person a miserable, cold Thursday night in Baltimore, I realized that a huge conspiracy was taking place before my very eyes...

A total scam.

Matt Moore, and dozens of other disgustingly bad backup quarterbacks in the NFL have been ripping off teams for tens of millions of dollars, year after year...

Yet almost anytime they're called upon to fill in for an injured/ineffective starter, they fail.

And they often fail spectacularly.

Like Matt Moore, who threw two touchdowns Thursday... TO THE OPPOSING TEAM.

Here's the second one to Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith, which made the score 40-0:

Moore, who had a chance to improve the Dolphins record to 5-2 this year, instead ended up 25/44 (56%), for 176 yards, with two interceptions and a 47.1% passer rating.

He was also sacked three times.

Terrible. And now the 4-3 Miami Dolphins' season is on the brink of disaster unless Jay Cutler can return sooner than later from his rib injury.

But get this...

Moore is on the back end of a two-year, $3.5 million dollar deal.

When it's all said and done, Moore will have made $20.4 million in his career, according to overthecap.com.

$20.4M! FOR WHAT?!

Look at this joke of a career stat line:

But like I said, Moore isn't a contract thief who's acting alone.

There are many others out there just stealing money...

Like the Cowboys' Kellen Moore ($2.9M), the Colts' Scott Tolzien ($5.7M), the Ravens' Ryan Mallett ($6.4M), the Raiders' E.J Manuel ($9.5M), the Giants Geno Smith ($6.1M), the Redskins' Colt McCoy (yes, he's still in the league and will have made over $10M in his career), the Eagles' Nick Foles ($18.7M), the Jaguars' Chad Henne ($24.7M), the Panthers' Derek Anderson ($24.3M), and the Cardinals' Drew Stanton ($14.8M), among others.

Oh, my God, those guys stink!

Some guys take it to another level... Like the Broncos' Brock Osweiler who only lasted one year in Houston after signing a four-year $72 million dollar deal. The Broncos' took him back for pennies on the dollar ($775K) after he got cut by the Browns earlier this year.

And then there's the Falcons' Matt Schaub, whose last name you can't type without it autocorrecting Schaub to "Schlub." He's taken home $86 million in his mostly cringeworthy career (although he did have a couple decent seasons as a starter in Houston until he started throwing routine Pick 6's).

Yes, he's still in the NFL at 36-years-old!

There are very few backups who have legitimate chances of doing great things when called upon. There's the Patriots' Jimmy Garoppolo, the Bengals' A.J. McCarron, and the Packers' Brett Hundley, who's getting his chance right now to fill in for Aaron Rodgers, who's out with an injury.

Bottom line: Parents, if you want your kids to enjoy a wonderful financial future, teach them to become a backup QB.
