4 Rivers Smokehouse opened its doors last Sunday to send support to Dorian victims. Partnering with World Central Kitchen, the event raised contributions to send meals to the Bahamas. World Central Kitchen is a non for profit organization that is focused on sending meals to those recovering from natural disasters. All locations (except Downtown Orlando) were open on Sunday from 11 am – 3 pm offering dine-in, take out and online menus. Breakfast was also served all day.

Doing business on a Sunday is against protocol for 4 Rivers locations, but this event really reminds us all of 4 Rivers mission and purpose according to their website about page: “We exist to use our God-given gifts to support the local community through exceptional products, steadfast customer service, and uncompromised integrity".

John Rivers and his team strive to give back to the community through good food and good people, as well as dedicating themselves to those in need. Rivers relied on Floridians' personal experience with hurricanes to draw support to this event. Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas as a category 5 and caused mass destruction. According to CNN, more than 70,000 people are homeless, and rescues are being delayed due to failing infrastructure. There are plenty of options to send help to those recovering. Any little bit will help! World Vision and the American Red Cross are collecting donations.
