Over the past few months, the Downtown Orlando area has welcomed a whole new crop of bars and restaurants set to reinvigorate the dining and nightlife scene throughout the neighborhood according to a recent article from the Orlando Business Journal.

And, you won't be travelling to the outskirts of the city to find them.  The evidence of this dining and nightlife renaissance can be found right along Downtown Orlando's main drag, Orange Avenue.

Case in point: the recently-opened Avenue Gastrobar Orlando which took over the former space where Senso Supperclub once operated.  The internationally-minded bar and restaurant opened its doors with a soft opening last week and has a grand opening set for Friday, May 24, the Journal reports.

Kasa Tapas & Raw Bar will also join Downtown Orlando's growing roster of restaurants located on Orange Avenue when it opens its doors at the corner of Orange Ave. and Church St. sometime this summer.  It will open in the prime spot previously held by Urban Flats.

Speaking of Church Street, this historic pocket of Downtown announced it would welcome a diverse assortment of new bars and restaurants including Black Umbrella, Brick & Brass Lounge, and Saddle Up Old American Bar which will all be part of a larger complex called The District at Orange Avenue and Washington Street.

The former Desert Lady Location in Church Street Station will also soon be occupied by a new bar called Church Street Tavern, said to be a "Pittsburgh Steelers fan haven" which is set to open in August.

The new bar and restaurant will boast 1,600-square feet and 150 seats with a new area for patio seating and famous, fresh Pittsburgh dishes, including a version of the Primanti sandwich, pierogis and other favorites like Cincinnati Chili, the Journal reports.

This is just a small sampling of all the great new things happening in Downtown Orlando.  Head out soon and see for yourself how this ever-growing Orlando dining and nightlife destination has stepped up.
